We don't have the traditional pets any more. We did have 3 cats and a Yorkie at one time. After having to put down our little dog because of her age and health we decided not to have any more indoor pets. Now we call the 'wildlife' Our Pets.

The other animals we have around here are wild animals.  Living on the river we have all sorts of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, to name a few.  We have had eagles that perch in our trees, and many other types of birds that fly up-and-down the river.  Becky even had a raccoon (she named it Ricky) that she could  go and sit out on the deck and talk to 'Ricky' while he enjoyed eating sunflower seeds, that she puts out for the birds and squirrels.

It's beautiful here on the river, you see something different every day. Except for the cold and the snow in the winter, we think it's just as beautiful as in the summer.  In the fall and winter we get Eagles, Canadian geese, different breeds of ducks and other birds on the water. A couple of years ago we even had some snow geese stop buy out front on the river bank

All the following pictures were taken on or from our deck.

The Hummingbird is Becky's favorite.  She has six different feeders for them.

This hummingbird got caught between the perch and the
feeder. We carefully removed her. She rested in my hands
while Becky took this picture. After a few minutes she flew off.

We are getting more Pelicans in our area every year.

This group of Pelicans get a free ride on a tree.

Great Blue Heron on our dock.

These Trumpeter Swans were banded by the DNR
for tracking purposes.

This Red Tailed Hawk sat on our bird feeder pole and
starred at me thru our patio door while I took his picture.

What a beautiful bird.

This feeder has a Plexiglas side. It's fun watching squirrels
eat especially when they try pulling the apple thru the hole.

After fishing on the river, this tree is a good place to rest.
